Nose
Intense petrol and crushed limestone open the nose, followed by ripe white peach, citrus zest, and a subtle honeyed quality. A smoky, almost flinty note adds intrigue beneath the fruit.
Palate
Dense and mineral-driven, with the Hengst's calcareous-marl soils expressing themselves as a chalky, almost saline texture. Ripe citrus and green apple fruit are framed by piercing acidity and a honeyed richness that never tips into sweetness. The weight is impressive for a Riesling, structured like a wine built to age.
