Woodinville Straight Bourbon Whiskey Barrel Select

Woodinville · Woodinville Whiskey Company

90 proofNASWashington, United States
Woodinville quietly built one of the most consistent small-distillery bourbons in the country by aging in a climate that swings wildly between seasons. This barrel select expression highlights their attention to grain sourcing and warehouse management. It drinks well above its price point.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich caramel and brown sugar open immediately, followed by toasted oak and a gentle wave of vanilla. Beneath that sits a thread of dried apple and soft baking spice.

Palate

Buttery and round on entry, with butterscotch leading into charred oak and a surprising burst of cherry. The mid-palate shows corn sweetness balanced by hints of leather and a faint nuttiness.

Finish

Medium length, warm and clean, with lingering caramel and a dry oak fade.

Food Pairing

The bourbon's caramel sweetness and charred oak cut through the richness of smoked wild salmon on sourdough crostini with crème fraîche and dill.

The Story

Founded in a garage in Woodinville, Washington by two friends obsessed with grain-to-glass whiskey, the distillery now ages its bourbon in rickhouses east of the Cascades where extreme temperature swings drive deep barrel interaction.
