Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Télégramme Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022

Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône, France
Télégramme is the Bruniers' second wine, made from younger vines on the same plateau of galets roulés as La Crau. It's a study in how the angle of entry — young roots meeting ancient stone — produces a wine of immediate charm and surprising depth for its price.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Fresh red cherry and crushed strawberry, with a dusting of garrigue herbs — thyme and lavender. Beneath the fruit, a rocky mineral note emerges alongside a hint of black pepper and dried violet.

Palate

Juicy and medium-bodied, with bright cherry and raspberry fruit supported by fine-grained tannins. There's a warmth from the galets roulés terroir — sun-baked stones that radiate heat — and a gentle spice that builds through the mid-palate.

Finish

Medium, with lingering cherry, dried herbs, and a stony minerality that holds on.

Food Pairing

Grilled lamb chops rubbed with thyme, rosemary, and garlic, served with ratatouille, mirror the wine's garrigue aromatics and its cherry-fruited warmth.

The Story

Produced by the Brunier family from younger vines on the famed Plateau de La Crau in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Télégramme is crafted as the more approachable sibling of the domaine's flagship La Crau bottling.
