Smoke gets a lot of credit when it's loud. Peat-monsters and charred barrels announce themselves from across the room, and we love them for it. But there's a subtler role smoke plays in the world of spirits and wine — the background hum, the undertone that shapes texture and finish without ever shouting. Aaron Chepenik founded Nevada H&C Distilling in Las Vegas and built the Smoke Wagon brand by hand-selecting barrels from MGP's Lawrenceburg, Indiana distillery, bringing desert heat and Midwestern grain together under one label.
