Fuenteseca Reserva Extra Añejo 6 Year

Fuenteseca · Tequilera del Salto de Juanacatlán

86 proof6 YearJalisco, Mexico
Enrique Fonseca's Fuenteseca line represents tequila aged far beyond the norm, and the six-year expression demonstrates why patience in wood can work if the starting spirit is extraordinary. The agave character refuses to disappear under the oak. This is a contemplative tequila — one that asks to be sipped alongside a fine whisky, not mixed.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Cooked agave and dark chocolate open with authority, followed by toasted oak, butterscotch, and dried tropical fruit. A delicate thread of leather emerges underneath.

Palate

Rich and layered, with caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon building through the mid-palate. The agave remains present despite six years of barrel aging, providing a vegetal anchor to the oak-driven sweetness. Hints of coffee and pepper appear late.

Finish

Exceptionally long, with oak tannins, leather, and a final echo of cooked agave.
