Domaine Marcel Lapierre Juliénas 2022

Domaine Marcel Lapierre

Juliénas, Beaujolais, France
From the Lapierre domaine that helped define natural Beaujolais, this Juliénas shows the other side of Gamay — more structured and earthy than their famous Morgon but with the same uncompromising no-sulfite approach. It's a wine with genuine rough edges that make it feel alive in the glass. Serve slightly cool for maximum impact.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright red cherry and wild strawberry burst from the glass, joined by crushed violets and a hint of fresh-turned earth. A subtle granitic minerality lies beneath the fruit.

Palate

Juicy and textured, with tart cherry and raspberry balanced by a gentle tannic grip from the granite soils. There's a peppery, almost gamey undercurrent that adds seriousness to the fruit-forward profile.

Finish

Medium-length with lingering cherry, a touch of mint, and clean mineral freshness. The tannins fade gently.
